FULL AIR SUSPENSION - THE IDEAL SOLUTION FOR ALL SORTS OF EMERGENCY SERVICE VEHICLES

Placed on 05/05/2021

It would have been great to report that we are all set for our first fair of the year. Today would have marked the start of RETTmobil International 2021 in Fulda. We have been regular attendees at the fair as a participating exhibitor showcasing our products in the emergency services sector. Unfortunately, the reality is somewhat different, and the organisers had to take the difficult decision earlier this year to cancel the fair on 5 - 7 May. Clearly, this was the only responsible decision in the circumstances and the fair has now been rescheduled for 11 - 13 May 2022.

A recurring theme that we wanted to highlight this year is how our full air suspension can bring benefits in the emergency services sector. The ideal solution for all sorts of emergency service vehicles.

The role of emergency service vehicles is to transport people and equipment quickly and safely and to get on scene as rapidly as possible (target times apply in some countries). To do so, a high degree of vehicle stability, excellent ride comfort and optimum driveability are of the utmost importance.

Many emergency service vehicles have a high centre of gravity and are fitted out with high-tech, weighty paramedic equipment. In an emergency, the patient must be reached as quickly as possible and be transported safely in a stable position. For this to happen, the driver needs to be able to count on a well-running and manoeuvrable vehicle.

A full air suspension system from VB-Airsuspension ensures that the emergency service vehicle remains stable and easily manoeuvrable under all circumstances, even when it is heavily laden. The vehicle is less sensitive to crosswinds and unevenness in the road surface, leans less when cornering and responds effectively during sudden evasive and braking manoeuvres.

These advantages ensure that emergency service vehicles can travel more efficiently, faster and more safely when responding to an emergency call-out than with a traditional suspension system. Despite the high vehicle weight, maximum comfort for the paramedics and passengers is still assured. Our air suspension systems undergo rigorous testing at closed test facilities with approval by the vehicle manufacturer, allowing VB-Airsuspension to ensure that its air suspension systems meet the most demanding quality standards.
