The Caravan Salon was extra special this year. Not only did we unveil a completely new trade fair stand, but we also scooped the König Kunde Award in the “Fahrwerkstechnik” (running gear) category for the first time, beating off competition from the likes of Goldschmitt, Linnepe and SMV. To celebrate “Frau Antje” herself paid a special visit to the Caravan Salon.
VB-Airsuspension attended the Caravan Salon with both an indoor and an outdoor stand. The indoor stand had a complete revamp this year, and it was from here that Frau Antje toured the fair with a trolley offering Dutch specialities for visitors and exhibitors to enjoy. VB-Airsuspension is a Dutch company in origin, so a few tasty Dutch treats were the perfect way to celebrate winning the König Kunde Award. There was a very positive response and lots of visitors wanted their photo taken with Frau Antje.
König Kunde Award-ceremony
The awards ceremony for the König Kunde Award took place during the evening of Sunday 28 August. The award was created by highly regarded German motoring magazine Reisemobil International, which conducts a customer satisfaction survey among motorhome owners every year. Iginio Voorhorst, CEO of VB-Airsuspension, attended the ceremony to accept the award. “This is a very special moment for us. This award represents a great deal of hard work by us and is down in large part to our VB-Partner network and our customers, without whom we couldn't have won. So, I would like to thank everyone for their confidence in VB-Airsuspension and our products,” enthused Voorhorst.

Donation to children's hospital
Another special moment of the König Kunde Award ceremony came when the donation to the children's cancer hospital in Düsseldorf was handed over. A total of €24,000 was raised for the hospital thanks to the generosity of exhibitors at the Caravan Salon. VB-Airsuspension also played its small part in the fund-raising effort. “We place a great deal of emphasis on community involvement and this is expressed partly by donations such as this,” explained Martin Fabisch, director of VB-Airsuspension Germany.
